I updated my Cherington website this week and gave it a bit of a new look for the new year.

It’s a little site I set up a couple of years ago but never really did much with, hopefully more of the villagers will contibute this year and it should improve.

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:

Is the Word Lens app a hoax and fake?

looks like Word Lens is real and is available as an app from iTunes for £2.99, amazing stuff.

I will hopefully be buying an iPad before Christmas, but as with all the other laptops I have ever bought will be wanting an extra keyboard to go with it.

When looking at the Apple site though the only ones I can seem to find are wireless ones at a staggering £56.00

Why are iPad keyboards so expensive and is there an alternative which doesn’t invalidate any warranties Apply provide with the iPad.

I’ve never bought Apple before, but is this how they make so much money, by having the costs of the Apple accessories so high?

As any Google AdWords or Google AdSense user will know, the contract with Google is between us and Google Ireland.

The reason for this is because Ireland currently has one of the lowest corporation tax rates at just 12.5% meaning  running the finances through Ireland save Google a fortune in tax.

If the Irish government are pressurised in to raising their corporation tax in line with the rest of Europe it will mean Ireland loses it’s appeal to Google who may then shift operations eleswhere.

Will Google move out of Ireland if the Irish government raises corporation tax and if so where is the most likely place google will move to?

Bulgaria, Cyprus, Serbia ?

It will be interesting to see what happens if Ireland raises corporation tax rate.

The Seed Marketing Regulations 2010 which come in to force on 22nd November 2010 list Cannabis sativa L as a seed that can only be marketed by a person licensed to do.

Does this effectively mean the sale of cannabis seeds is to be licensed in the UK and the websites selling cannabis seeds will either have to gain a licence or find a loophole in the new legislation?

Does anyone know if it is published anywhere How much the BBC earn from google?

It would be interesting to know just how much Google are paying the BBC each month.
