I ordered my new PC on Friday, a non branded system from the same local store as where my previous 3 have come from.

Pricing a similar system up online came to about 15% cheaper, but I don’t mind paying the extra to support the local store and also because of the reliability of previous systems and the knowledge that if I do have any problems they will put it right quickly.

I only ordered a base unit and decided to stick with my existing monitors, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

They gave me the option of sticking with XP, but I decided to opt for Vista and also went for an OEM version of Office 2007 Professional and talked them in to throwing in a free Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0

I’ve backed everything up on this system and have trimmed down to a bare minimum what I will transfer over, the plan then is to use this system predomiantly for storage and just have it set up so it is there when I need it.
