Blinds in Nottinghamshire

For the past 2 or 3 years I have noticed an inreasing number of affiliates who are operating campaigns for window blinds, conservator blinds, roller blinds, awnings etc. Most of these affiliates tend to just concentrate on box shifting rather than offering any kind of personal service and with them it is a case of; display the product, take the order, deliver.

The other kind of blinds website is like the one I set up for Bradrail a company who not only sells blinds in Nottinghamshire but also provide a full service including measuring, making, installing.

As well as window blinds, Bradrail alo produce a wide range of canopies and awnings for both domestic and commercial clients.

Castle Quay Shopping Centre Banbury

I took my daughter to her aunties in Adderbury this morning and being only a couple of miles from Banbury decided to nip in and do a bit of shopping whilst I was there.

Despite only being about 15 miles from Banbury, I seldom go there, and when I do, it is usually just to the out of town stores.

Being a Sunday, with less traffic on the road (and less people in the shops) I decided to brave it and have a drive in to the center.

First nice surprise was a nice easy to use car park, Castle Quay Parking North, next was a pleasant short distance walk to the main entrance of the Castle Quay Shopping Centre and the final nice surprise was the quality of the place and the number of nice shops it has.

I’ve never been much of a shopper and tend to just stick to familiar places where I feel comfortable, but the beauty of Castle Quay is it has all the nice familiar places like; M&S, Debenhams, Next, GAP, Boots, Bhs, Waterstone’s, Woolworths etc. It also has a nice range of Jewellery shops, shoe shops, sports shops, games shops, book shops, gifts shops, food outlets and much more.

All the staff seem pleasant, the centre is nice, clean and spacious and generaly has a nice atmosphere. Looks like I have found somewhere to do my Christmas shopping this year.

Free Advertising

I was having a look around my free advertising pages earlier and thinking how much better it could be when I though of the idea of adding a few articles to the page about advertising secrets and advertising tips.

I’ve always been rubbish at writing articles, so basicaly just set up the template pages ready for if ever I get a bit of inspiration to write some nice advertising articles.

Free Advertising.
Advertising Secrets.
How to find cheap ways to advertise.
It’s not what it costs, it’s what it returns.
Online advertising v Traditional advertising.

I also added new sections for guest houses, estate agents, restaurants and hotels, added a number of useful local links and also links to nearby locations.

Moreton-in-Marsh accountants, Tayabali-Tomlin, are chosen by their peers in the UK’s Accounting Firm of the Year Awards

On 7 October at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, in front of 349 fellow accountants from across the country, Moreton-in-Marsh based Tayabali-Tomlin were named as the 2008/9 UK Accounting Firm of The Year runners up.

The Award, sponsored by AVN, is the only one of its kind where the winners are chosen by a panel of fellow accountants. Explaining their success, AVN’s Chairman Steve Pipe said:

”Tayabali-Tomlin are blazing a trail for other accountants to follow. Even in the face of the recession their proactive approach is helping their clients to grow, to create jobs and to become more successful. As a result they are redefining what businesses should expect from their accountants.”

Immediately after their Award success Tayabali-Tomlin director Aynsley Damery said:

”Although we didn’t win, this is a wonderful honour for us.  We have always believed that we are great at what we do - providing our clients with additional and relevant value-added services, helping them achieve increased profitability and personal wealth whilst generating phenomenal tax savings.  It’s all the more flattering to know that our peers believe so too!”

Cheap Advertising - Online Advertising

With the credit crunch taking more effect and recession looming, many small businesses who have never had to advertise before are suddenly in the position of having to find cheap advertising.

This is especialy true for tradesmen like; bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians etc. where as in recent years they have had work coming out of their ears and have had no need to advertise, all of a sudden the work has dried up and advertising is looking like the way to get what little work is out there.

The smarter amongst these tradesmen have soon realised that cheap online advertising could be their lifeline as long as it is cost effective and provides a good return of investment.

Some are suckered in to paying extortionate prices for adverts using the old fashioned models, others are leeched upon by the many online marketing/ advertising companies that appear everywhere now, and some take the smart option of researching first and only taking out cost effective advertising which soon pays for itself.

One such form of cheap, cost effective advertising is that provided by the UK Small Business Directory. Owned and run by just one person, you won’t be ripped of by unscrupulous commission led sales staff and you won’t be hassled to upgrade your listing to something you don’t want.
